JSON that preserves Firestore types

Edit Firestore documents as typed JSON

Move between Fields, JSON, and Diff without silently flattening timestamps, references, GeoPoints, bytes, or 64-bit integers.

01

Keep special values explicit

Cengal extended JSON uses wrappers such as $timestamp, $reference, $geoPoint, $bytes, and $integer for values plain JSON cannot safely represent.

02

Edit nested maps deliberately

Arrays and maps stay nested. Validation catches malformed JSON and invalid wrappers before a change can enter the pending queue.

03

Review the complete document diff

The JSON editor stages a full field-map update for the document, so removed and changed fields remain visible before apply.

Scope and limits

Know what this workflow does.

  • The document root must be a JSON object.
  • A JSON editor update is not a merge-fields operation.
  • No invalid JSON is sent to Firestore.
