A table-first Firestore workflow

A native Firestore GUI for Mac

Browse collections as tables, filter loaded rows, inspect exact Firestore types, and review staged changes before writing.

01

Browse with the target visible

Move through accounts, projects, named databases, collections, and bounded document pages while the active context stays in view.

02

Filter and inspect loaded documents

Use inferred columns for the current loaded rows, then inspect a document in Fields, JSON, or Diff without flattening Firestore-specific types.

03

Stage, review, then apply

Edits enter one pending queue. Check every document path and field-level change before a connected write.

Scope and limits

Know what this workflow does.

  • Filtering and export operate on documents already loaded in the workspace.
  • Connected projects start read-only; production writes require a temporary unlock.
  • Cengal is a Firestore client, not a replacement for Firebase Auth, Storage, Analytics, or AI tooling.
